The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori frowned at the slow pace of the Card Readers, commending electorate for their massive turn out.
Accreditation started at about 9:40 at Okpe local government area, Delta State, and the speaker voted at about 10:2am, described the election in the area as generally peaceful.
Speaking after casting his vote, Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori representing Okpe state constituency and a PDP House Assembly candidate frown at the slow pace of the Card Reader.
According to him, voters came out at about 7 am and the INEC official also came early to set up their tools, however, accreditation was slow down because the Card Reader were malfunctioning.
“You saw that it took almost an hour for me to vote, because the Card Reader is having some issues, I don’t know of other areas, but you all experienced what happened, we are hoping that it will improve, because they have sent for their technical department.
“My advice to electorate is that they should be very patient because the process is very slow.
“As a democrat, I want to ensure that the process is free and fair, expecting victory for PDP, because here is more of PDP, we are expecting huge vote from this area.
At Obiaruku grammar unit 15/16, ward 10, Ukwuani Local Government Area, voting and accreditation started late due to late arrival of materials.
Accreditation and voting started by 10:15, at Morka primary school, Ward 10, unit, 1,2,3,4, Voting started 9am.
At Ward 1, unit 4, the card readers are now working, while at Eziokpor ward 6, Ukwuani, materials arrived 9am, Card Readers not working as at 10:47 am,
as at time of this report, election in Delta is generally peaceful.
