Prince Uche Secondus, the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has called on the military not to allow themselves to be used again.
Secondus said that at the rerun elections scheduled for this Saturday, the military and other security agencies should resist any attempt to be dragged into election manipulations.
The National Chairman said that military institution in Nigeria is highly regarded and it’s their responsibility to guide their names jealously and prevent.
Secondus at a meeting with top party officials on Wednesday, said that PDP was certain to get victory in the rerun in at least five of the six states as he warned the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and the security agencies to steer clear.
He reminded the INEC Chairman Prof Yakubu that he will be personally held responsible for the consequence s of all his actions.
The Vice Presidential candidate Peter Obi, in his remarks, said while INEC and security agencies should be knocked for their actions, more shame should go to the persons who are directing them.
Obi said that the worst form of corruption is election rigging because the process of coming into power is far more important than what is done thereafter.
The Senate President Bukola Saraki and the Speaker House Representatives Hon. Dogora, while speaking, urged members of the party to remain steadfast and not despair as their victory must be restored at the court
