The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Akwa Ibom Command has arrested eight suspects and impounded 142, 000 litres of illegally suspected petroleum products.

The State Commandant of the Corps, Mr Adeyinka Ayinla, disclosed this on Thursday in an interview with newsmen in Uyo, the state capital.

Ajinla said that the suspects were arrested in two different locations during the command operations in the state.

According to him, “The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in the last three to four weeks has siezed 142, 000 litres of illegally suspected petroleum products.

“I want the people of Akwa Ibom State and particularly criminals to desist from this act of economic sabotage.

“We are also monitoring unlicensed petroleum stations as stakeholders; we are going to partner with other sister security agencies to ensure that there is no adulterated petroleum products in the state
