The leader of APC in Delta state, Olorogun Otega Emerhor while congratulating Obaseki, described the victory of APC and its candidate in Edo State as a good omen for greater things to come in electioneering processes in Nigeria.

He said Edo people’s choice is a clear signal to elected public office holders not to take the electorates for granted because they have put a stop to future political ambitions through the ballot papers.

Emerhor also commended Gov Adams Oshiomole for his forthrightness, proactive leadership pedigree and political sagacity which placed APC far and above the PDP by convincingly winning the governorship election.

On his part Olorogun Great Ogboru a chieftain of the APC in Delta state stated Obasaki’s victory is a well deserved one. While commending Edo people for electing a technocrat as their next governor he noted that Edo State again has recorded another milestone in our Nation’s democratic experience.

He said: “On behalf of our fellow leaders and good people of Delta State particularly the APC Delta family, I congratulate the Governor-elect for this well-deserved victory. I also congratulate my dear brother, the Comrade Leader himself, His Excellency Adams Oshiomhole for leading our party to victory with his visible achievements as an ‘Action Governor’ and his total involvement in the campaigns and elections for the right reasons.

“Elections are about people. The huge turnout for the election affirms the people’s confidence in democracy in Edo State. By allowing an atmosphere for the people to freely vote their choices, our national security apparatus has helped to further consolidate this democracy. By not turning their weapons to rigging machines as is the history in Delta State, our army, police, state security service and other national security personnel rekindled hope in their role as guardians of our democracy. This is highly commendable.

He stated further that, “elections are often acrimonious. They tend to breaks bonds of brotherhood in very unusual ways. Guided by the law and good conscience, we cannot be wrong in our choices to lead with grace. I trust the present pragmatic and very promising incoming leadership in Edo State to sincerely heal the land and build a better society for all our people in Edo.

“For us in Delta State, our resolve to move to Eldorado from PDP’s Golgotha remains unshakable. With God helping us, we shall get there. Surely, we have a date with history.

Speaking also, the senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, while congratulating Mr. Godwin Obaseki as the Governor-elect noted that his victory at the poll was a major achievement for the good people of Edo State.

He stated also that the Governor-elect Obaseki and Pastor Izeh Iyamu are undoubtedly two great sons of Edo State. Adding that, “this election proved the great love the people have for them. This great love, I believe, should always guide their thoughts and perspectives in promoting only the common interest of the people who so much love them.

“I congratulate Governor-elect Obaseki for his victory. I have implicit confidence in his leadership strengths and determination to move Edo State forward with grace. Without question, he will promote that which will sustain the amazing legacy of the indefatigable Comrade Governor, His Excellency Adams Oshiomhole – a rare leader indeed. Governor-elect Obaseki’s transformative credentials and abilities are beyond question. My prayer is that the Almighty God should graciously uphold this good man to achieve his heart’s desires for our people in Edo.

“I must say that APC’s victory today (Thursday) in Edo State should advise traditional riggers in Delta State that we are coming like never before. With one voice and a determination never before witnessed, we shall repair the foundations of our dear Delta. By the grace of God and will of our people, we will remove PDP totally from Delta.”

The former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly and a stalwart of APC, Rt Hon Victor Ochei stated that the victory of the party at the just-concluded governorship elections in Edo State confirms the electorate’s resolve to usher in a new dawn in the nation’s quest for credible and progressive governance.

Ochei stated this during an interactive session with journalists in Benin, after the result was announced noted that the collective resolve of the electorate to vote the APC candidate, Godwin Obaseki as governor, underscores the overwhelming acceptability of the ruling party at the federal and state levels.

While commending  outgoing governor, Adams Oshiomole who tenure has made remarkable positive impact on the state he stressed that, “it is only logical and natural that a man of Obaseki’s pedigree has been voted to continue with the task of elevating Edo state to higher pedestal in the comity of progressive states in Nigeria”.
