The NNPC Retired Staff Association (RSA), Multipurpose Cooperative Society (MPCS) has elected a new executive led by Mr. Clement Imiruaye, as President in an open election conducted recently at the NNPC Housing Estate Gymnasium.
The election which was described as transparent by most of the members who were present, was part of the activities during the 6th Annual General Meeting of the Cooperative society.
In his acceptance speech, the President solicited for the support of other members in order to move the society forward.
According to him, “Corporative is not about making profit but to make thing available to the members at affordable prices”.
While addressing newsmen he also solicited for Government support for the cooperative societies, like it is done in other countries like Kenya that has Ministry of Cooperative, so as to foster the growth of small businesses and agricultural sector in order to create job.
The NNPC Cooperative had a net surplus of N35million within six years, as a result of prudent management of resources.
Other executives that emerged from the election included; Eneji Jimoh Bello as Vice President, Austin Momotimi Kpekpe as General Secretary, Philip Okwuoyibo as Financial Secretary, Wilson Onoworemu as Treasurer amongst others.
