Ahead of the 2019 general elections, the Ochor Ochor Campaign Organisation, has tasks to play by the rule and avoid maligning and blackmailing the authorities to gain favour, by discredit opponents, especially within same party, but rather should base their campaigns on issues.

The Executive Director, Social Services Development, Delta State oil Producing Areas
Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Hon Christopher Ochor Ochor, during project inspection.

The advice was contained in a press release issued by the Ochor Ochor Campaign Organisation, signed by a Media Consultant, Emmanuel Enebeli, on behalf of Hon Christopher Ochor Ochor, who has publicly declared his intention to contest, and represent the people of Ukwuani Local Government in the Delta State House of Assembly, come May 2019.

Hon Ochor in a 12 points press release, said that he is entering the race to contest the primaries under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, with an open mind, saying that as a PDP faithful since the inception in 1998, he has built structures in the various wards in the local government that will give him victory at the party primaries.

“Hon. Christopher Ochor Ochor does not shy away from being a steadfast party loyalist, and an unrepentant and proud supporter of PDP led Governments since 1999 especially that of the current performing government of Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa.”

According to him, “Hon Ochor Ochor, in preparing for the forthcoming election has developed and build structures in the 10 wards of the LGA, this has made him a credible and strong player in the race.”

He called on politicians, especially on same political platform to do away with blackmailing of opponents, and the authorities, as he denounced the use of blackmail to gain supports, especially as such actions is coming from those who had been disloyal to the party.

“Therefore the resort of our opponent, whose history of party disloyalty, disrespect of constituted authority, and betrayal of sponsors, to petitioning against the cordial working relationship of Hon. Ochor Ochor and the party structure can only be summarized to be cheap and unnecessary blackmail.”

The statement reiterated that his intention to run and represent the people of Ukwuani in the State House of Assembly is borne out of love to attract development to the area.

“His declaration to contest is based purely on his capability, relevance and experience which will quickly and effectively translate to development of Ukwuani Constituency in the current and coming dispensation.”

The statement stated further; “Hon. Ochor Ochor remains proud of being a politician with no history of abandoning the Party even at odd times.”

“Hon. Christopher Ochor Ochor will not and cannot deny his political root just because his opponent is using it as a campaign strategy to pull him down.”

The statement further advised the opponents, who are carrying campaign of calumny, and blackmail against him, and the authorities to step down instead of carrying campaigns of blackmail, as it had been proved that they have nothing to offer.
